Joanne was raised in St. Petersburg, Florida and graduated from the University of Central Florida and St. Thomas University School of Law. A third generation attorney and granddaughter of a federal judge, Joanne pursued a career in the courtroom as an assistant state attorney for the Sixth Judicial Circuit of Florida.
Joanne represented the state in dependency and neglect cases during the pain pill epidemic. She participated in the inception of "Baby Court," was trained in trauma-informed care, and created a notification system for dependent runaway children and the Human Trafficking Task Force of Tampa Bay. Joanne moved on to prosecute both adult and juvenile criminal cases for the state of Florida. After starting a family and transitioning to private practice, Joanne handled probate and family law cases including adoption litigation and foster parent representation.
In 2018, Joanne and her husband fell in love with Northwest Arkansas during a holiday trip to visit family and, later, relocated their young children to Washington County. Joanne earned a second law license to practice in the state of Arkansas and joined the Prosecuting Attorney's Office for Washington and Madison Counties in January, 2021. Since that time, she has represented the state of Arkansas in delinquency cases in both Washington and Madison Counties, and has initiated an information sharing system between the Prosecutor's Office and school districts across Washington County.
Joanne lives in Springdale with her husband, Eric, and their three children, Miles (8), Elliot (7) and Cameron (4). Joanne and her family are members of Cross Church Springdale.
Joanne offers experience in all areas of juvenile law including major crime prosecution for juveniles and adults.
Joanne will hold juveniles accountable through a model of "tough love" and increased court participation.
Joanne will work to find the right solution or motivation for each juvenile or family utilizing creative partnerships within the community.
